Vitamin C and My Quest to Remove Dark Spots

Vitamin C and My Quest to Remove Dark Spots

Vitamin C is changing my skin for the better. The addition of this mega vitamin to my skincare routine has started delivering some pretty amazing results. Look, I'm no dermatologist or anything but I can certainly share what's keeping my crazy skin under control.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) possesses powerful antioxidant properties which help to stimulate collagen production, combat wrinkles and aid sun-damaged skin. It doesn't matter if you're 20 or knocking on 40, it's never too early OR too late to take better care of your skin. Maybe you've heard about the anti-aging benefits of Vitamin C, but did you know that it can also help erase dark spots? As you may know, I've tried some great skincare products over the years. Nonetheless, my skin has become especially stubborn when it comes to firmness, discoloration, and acne scarring. Apparently, this is largely due to the fact that aging can lower the amount of Vitamin C within the skin's layers.

How To Choose a Vitamin C Serum

You might become a bit overwhelmed when you embark on your search for a Vitamin C serum. I'll make this a little bit easier for you. It appears that L-Ascorbic Acid or (LAA) is not only the most active natural form of Vitamin C but also the best absorbing. You will also want to purchase Vitamin C that comes inside of a dark bottle because exposure to air and light will cause it to degrade. Vitamin C can be better stabilized via the addition of Vitamin E and something called Ferulic Acid. Both of these ingredients are extremely potent antioxidants.

Say Hello To My Little Friend

So now I get to tell you all about the most amazing Vitamin C skin product ever. I found Bombshell Bathtime Vitamin C Serum after scouring the web for the best Vitamin C out there. This product boasts an impressive list of ingredients essential to aging skin. It contains Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Ferulic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Pro-Vitamin B5, and Vitamin B3(Niacinamide).

According to the Bombshell Bathtime site, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is used for its skin lightening effects and its potential to prevent additional pigmentation from developing and coming to the surface. The site also states that combining Pro-Vitamin B5, Niacinamide and Vitamin E produced improvements in skin tone and texture as well as faded darker areas on the skin.

The serum comes packaged in a protective dark amber colored glass bottle with a handy dropper. The liquid is clear and absorbs very quickly. I will admit that it has a slight smell but personally the smell just assures me the ingredients are top notch. The smell quickly fades so no worries about any lingering scent. I find the hyaluronic acid in this product leaves my skin moisturized with no need for additional moisture. I usually apply the product every evening before I got to bed. As a side note, I recently started alternating the use of my Vitamin C and my Gly-Luronic Acid Serum from Makeup Artist's Choice. I'll be reviewing this super combo in my next post.

The Results So Far

I will be keeping this product around for a long time. I genuinely love how it has increased the firmness of my jawline, brightened my face, and begun to lighten even the stubbornest acne scar on my right cheek. Did I forget to mention that it has only been a month? This stuff is amazing. I see a glow to my skin that I have not seen in a very long time.

If you've tried other more expensive anti-aging products only to obtain partial results, you will want to give this product a fair chance. I really think you will appreciate it and it just may become a staple in your daily skincare routine.
