Those darn edges...
If not layed properly, untamed edges can ruin the most beautiful hairstyle. So why is it so hard to find an edge control that holds without flaking, turning white, or drying so hard that it pulls your hair out?
I'm glad you asked. I believe this post will make your search a little bit easier.
With summer fast approaching, braids, buns, pony-tails, and other low maintenance protective hairstyles will soon grace many beautiful crowns.
You know how it is...anything less than sleek is unacceptable.
No worries, I've got the scoop on a unique brand of edge control that can tame those edges and/or if you're a stylist, add additonal income to your business.
Private Label Extensions, based in Atlanta, GA sent me their unique brand of edge control for review. Private Label Edge Control is designed to promote growth while holding those crunchy style-stealing edges securely in place. It leaves a healthy shine and dries to a consistency that is free from flakes and/or hardness.
Available on either an individual or wholesale basis, each container comes with a pre-applied ingredient/product detail label.
So, if you or someone you know is interested in selling their own branded edge control product, all they would need to do is apply their personal logo/label to the top and make those coins. Ingenious!
Edge Control comes in 2oz and 4oz sizes. I received one black and one clear 2oz container for the purposes of this review. I especially love the black. If you are in the process of regrowing your edges or you suffer from thinning hair, the black edge control can give the illusion of a thicker and fuller hairline. Additionally, if you wear a black lace-front unit like me, it also comes in handy for hiding little pieces of visible lace that may peek through.
Lastly, let's talk a little bit about how I used my sample of Private Label Edge Control. Yall know I love to rock my wigs but those edges have to be just right. So here I am with my unit already installed and edges looking a little less than perfect.
I simply took my handy dandy toothbrush and applied a small amount of edge control to my hairline. I smoothed it until I was happy with the result. What? You didn't know tootbrushes make the perfect edge brush?
Ok, chicas. Here's my "after" look. I loved it! I like my edges to look naturally smooth so I don't do alot of intricate sweeps or designs. Perfect.
One last pic after the edge control has dried a bit. Nice right?
