Matthew 24: 21 AMP
“His master said to him, Well done, you upright (honorable, admirable) and faithful servant! You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little; I will put you in charge of much. Enter into and share the joy (the delight, the blessedness) which your master enjoys.”
God has given us exactly what we need, and He has called us to be diligent and faithful masters of all that He has given to us. It is really up to us to determine how well we use those gifts/talents that He has given to us. Like many of us, we are so caught up in “doing” what’s right, rather than “being” who’s right, that we neglect to nurture and use those gifts that God has bestowed upon us. We simply wait, idly, for tomorrow, for a more opportune time, for our children to get older, etc. I’m inclined to believe that some of us are waiting to wait….
If you’re waiting for perfect timing, then you’re trying to do it on your own. God will never move us when we think it’s right, for His ways are not our ways and neither are His thoughts ours.
In this parable, God had given several talents to three different people, two of those invested and doubled their talent, while one just buried his and returned to God ONLY what He (God) had given him (the servant).
Often times, we want more, want to be more, want to have more, want to do more, when we are sitting around on our lazy do-nothings, expecting God to show up and do it all for us. “Au contraire mone frere/soeur” (On the contrary, my brother/sister), God has entrusted us with gifts and talents, but it is up to us to develop, hone, and perfect these gifts so that we can walk in full fruition of all that He has for us.
Today, take inventory, notice, realize, and actualize what it is that God has given you; take control of it and use it ALL for His glory and your good!
Just remember that you have all that you need. Just as exercising our physical bodies makes us stronger, more agile, and more resilient, exercising those things that God has given us-our faith, our gifts, our talents- makes them stronger, more agile, and we get a greater anointing. Never underestimate, who you are and what you have, because God loves us ALL so much that He has given us all that we need; He’s just waiting on you to move!!!! There’s no time like the present and no one who can do it like you can!
