How to Get Back in The Ring and Fight

How to Get Back in The Ring and Fight

“Fight the good fight of the faith.” 1 Timothy 6: 12

Maybe you’ve been knocked down, dragged around, and just about anything else that can describe the toils and trials of this life.  Some of you have battled addiction, depression, illness, heartache, financial hardship and many other battles.  You’re tired.  You’re beaten up.  You’re busted and probably even disgusted.  I get it, truly I do.  You’re physically, spiritually, emotionally, financially, and mentally sick and tired of being sick and tired.  We’ve all been there.

STOP! End of Round One

As you sit in the corner, gazing at those things that have troubled you, you’ve all but decided that you aren’t going back in the ring.  You’re tired. You’re frustrated, and you have nothing else to give–or so you think.  Yes, that last one was a doozy.  It almost took you out, but somehow, someway you managed to get up from the mat, and on wobbly knees manage to stand, as the referee signaled “STOP”.

You look up at the referee dazed, and you think that your vision is blurred, but there’s something different about Him.  He’s not dressed normally.  Instead of black and white stripes on His uniform, His uniform has red stripes. He’s been wounded and bruised.  He looks unlike any other referee you’ve seen.

That’s the point;  Look to Jesus, stop trying to do it on your own.  (Scripture Reference Isaiah 53:5)

Sometimes in our lives, God allows us to experience trials, pain, tribulation, discontent and every other variable possible, in order that we may gain perspective, regroup and look to Him.  Yes, you’ve been hurt, but guess what?! If you’re reading these words, you’re still able to fight, you’re just sitting in the corner.

I’m telling you to get back into the fight! Don’t give up! With God as our guide and coach, you have all that you need to stand in the ring and face those things head on.  As you sit there in the corner, you realize that maybe you bobbed, when you should have weaved, or maybe you jabbed, when you should have hooked.  Whatever it is, allow this time that you’re sitting there bruised and busted, to be a time of reflection and meditation.  Sometimes we need to reflect, not dwell, on things that happened, in order to form a strategy to go forth.

Meditate on the Word of God, because that will be what will give you the direction in which you should go. Remember you’re not in this alone, with Jesus as your referee, you know there is nothing the enemy can throw at you, that you’re not equipped to handle, because Jesus has experienced it all and is able to guide you in the way that will give you a surpassing victory.

Regardless of how long you’ve sat in that corner, stand up, gain your composure and GET BACK IN THE RING!
